Bonk!

Nori has started making this funny face and blows air out her nose anytime she bonks her head on anything. This time it was the rail... but as you can see, she gets over it quickly and is on the move again.

A Fun New Game

We now spend a good part of each day crawling around the chair in Nori's room. Sometimes she wants to be chased, and others she wants to be found... but either way, we keep going round and round and round!

Summer swing time.

Thanks to Nana Sue, Nori has been having hours of fun on her new swing set! She LOVES her dolphin swing, and is starting to figure out the slide... I have a feeling she is going to be like her Daddy, and be all about fun rides and adventures!

My girl loves blue

Note the blue bucket, blue hippo, and blue elephant.... I promise we have toys in other colors, but this is the assortment she crawls around and collects for herself!

Going, going, gone

So, it looks like this a veiw I need to get use to seeing a lot of.

Fort Nori

Even away from home Nori was able to find some blue toys to play with... and even a fort to hide them in!

Micah and Nori

They really did have a great time playing together!!!! It was just those few moments when they wanted to have the same toy, that the "boxing out" came into play. They could be great ball players. We'll have to keep working on that small little thing called sharing... aka putting others before self.

Penny Pond

We went to Coats this past weekend to visit our dear old friends (who are not so old, hehe) the Barts. This is the view from their back porch... if this isn't beautiful enough to make you want to pause and take in a deep breath, I don't know what is! If you look close you can see a red bench across the pond, that use to be our backyard when we lived there.

The Beginning with Our Little Bean

John and I were looking back at some old photos tonight and we ran across this video. Nori was about 1/2 a day old here. Her Great Aunt Marcia is holding her... and the runner in the hall is her cousin Ashley. She was so small and cuddly. It's really hard to remember her being so tiny and still!

Some money will never go in the bank

Nori has this piggy bank with all different colored coins. You take the coins and drop them in the slot on the pigs back, and it counts them out loud. When you are done you can open the side of the pig and get out the coins to start over. Only in our house, all the coins go in but the blue. No matter what we do, the blues are never banked.

Daddy's little helper

Nori saw John across the room, installing her baby gate. She instantly picked up her hammer and crawled over to offer her assistance. She is too sweet!

Nori's favorite color = BLUE

Nori is so fun and full of curiosity and wonder. Her sweet personality is emerging more and more each day. Its so cool to see she already has preferences for things. I noticed the other week that when playing with an assortment of toys Nori always gravitated to the blue ones. So I started moving the blue ones out of the way and she would crawl past other toys to get the blue toy. Thanks to her Laugh and Learn Piano she has added the word blue to her growing vocabulary list. Its hard to tell the color of the pegs in this video (purple, green, red, orange, and blue) but Nori will only play with the blue ones. What could this all mean?

Hard work

Nori now is on the move everywhere. This video was shot about 3 mins post the first, and the funny thing is that she does this all the time now if she needs a little breather!

She did it!!!!

Yes, that is right, you heard it here... Nori is crawling. Yeah!!! Now she is into Everything! Plus, John was so tickled she did it on his lunch break at home, so he was there too! She is pretty pleased with herself as well.

9 Months

Nori celebrated 9 months on Monday. In a few days( she was 11 days late!!!) she will have lived out of the belly as long as she lived inside! Crazy thought. Her new stats are 21 lbs 1 oz, and 28.5 inches tall. She finally cut the other 2 top teeth, bringing her total to 6. She puts them to good use everyday too... when she eats her finger food she picks up the little bite size piece with her pinchers and holds it to her mouth where she crunches it with her teeth till its a small remnant in her hand. Only then does she place the rest in her mouth. She has been rolling everywhere, and now trying hard to crawl... only, as you can see in the photo above, her version is to use her hands and feet(no knees). She only gets one or two steps along, so we will have to see what she settles on. Nori's favorite thing to do, by far, is to hold onto our fingers and go for walks around the house. She has also started to explore the idea of cruising on furniture. We will keep everyone posted on the walking. Nori has also become very aware of my fashions. All day today she kept trying to get my headband... I let her pull it off and she kept holding it up to her head, so I put it on her, expecting her to pull it off... but the little miss was happy to have it on. I love that Funny Girl!

Chef Nori

Nori has been getting more and more interested in the things I do around the house. So I gave her a set of misc. kitchen supplies of her very own. Step one down for Nori cooking dinners for us! I can almost taste it now!

More fun with Dad

While John and his friends have traveled to TN to find excitement and fun(will show soon) I thought I would post this photo to prove you don't even have to leave your living room to go on crazy rides!
